Royal Enfield has once again captured the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts with the launch of the Bear 650, a scrambler-inspired masterpiece that blends retro aesthetics with cutting-edge engineering. Revealed amid much fanfare, the Bear 650 pays homage to the iconic Big Bear Run off-road races of the 1960s and channels the spirit of vintage motorcycling into a modern, adventure-ready machine.
At first glance, the Bear 650 stands out with its minimalist design and purposeful stance. The motorcycle features a sculpted fuel tank with bold graphics, a circular LED headlight, and a ribbed seat that reinforces its rugged personality. High-mounted fenders and a two-into-one upswept exhaust lend it an air of adventure, while the wire-spoke wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tires emphasize its off-road credentials.
The Bear 650 comes in five striking colorways: Boardwalk White, Petrol Green, Wild Honey, Golden Shadow, and the exclusive Two Four Nine edition, a tribute to Eddie Mulder’s racing heritage.
At the heart of the Bear 650 is the same proven 648cc parallel-twin engine that powers Royal Enfield’s acclaimed Interceptor and Continental GT models. Delivering 47 horsepower and 41.7 lb-ft of torque, the engine promises a smooth and responsive performance across a variety of terrains. A new two-into-one exhaust system not only enhances the bike’s torque but also produces a deep, throaty note that complements its scrambler identity.
The Bear 650 is equipped with a reinforced chassis for added durability. An inverted Showa big-piston fork with 5.1 inches of travel and twin rear shocks offering 4.5 inches of travel ensure the bike is as capable on rugged trails as it is on paved roads.
Despite its retro appearance, the Bear 650 comes packed with modern features. A circular TFT Tripper Dash display offers turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity, while the USB-C charging port and full LED lighting system add convenience and safety. These updates mark a significant step forward for Royal Enfield’s mid-capacity range.
With a ground clearance of 184mm, the Bear 650 is well-suited for light off-road adventures. The combination of a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, paired with grippy tires, provides stability and control over diverse terrain.
